Just want to let you know how awesome my year has been so far!

AWESOME VISIT DURING MY GIG

I was getting set to play my biweekly gig at Dollars Nijmegen when suddenly two voices sounded from the entrance area: “Is somebody gonna play some me music or what???”

My parents decided the evening before to come and surprise me at my gig! They drove through half the country, booked a hotel and came to watch my show! That was so awesome seeing them there! My mom and me even did a duet together! <3 Thank you mom and dad! I love you!

THEATER PLAY

I had the awesome pleasure of being in a city theather play! My good friend Sher asked me if I wanted to be part of it and who would say no to that?! It was ofcourse one of the most scary things I ever did, but the rush was worth it completely!

JANIS JOPLIN

During the change of clothes in the play mentioned above, I got a message from Mark asking me if I would like to step in to Janis Joplin’s shoes for a tribute evening @ Club Move. My responce: “Oh wow! Yeah I can make it that evening! Sure! Oh wow!” The whole idea started to settle in my mind a day or two later; The words “oh wow!” and “sure!” just didn’t cut it anymore! Such an honor to do a tribute to the person that opened all the doors for female singer to rock, blues and much other places! As it happened to be there was a premiere on an amazing documentary about Janis as well!

After Enjoying that beyond words it was time to get ready for the tribute a couple of months later. Which resulted in a great evening where I personally feel like I did the tribute justice:

ONLINE:

Next to having some awesome times playing gigs in Second Life I also found out about some new places to play online: Concertwindow and Twitch! These are both places where I play shows on the webcam! Oh wait, not litterally ON the webcam of course 😀 but video is being streamed as well!

SONGWRITING:

I have been very actively working on my songwriting! I can’t say I’m a very fast writer but I love the fact that I get those moments that I am so excited about my songs in progress that I can’t help but play them live! And I have no other words than BOATLOADS OF LOVE that you all seem to be liking what I write!

Last but not least (otherwise you wouldn’t see this message) my website is coming along pretty okay if I may say so myself!

I have finally started to (carefully) promote it here and there. This resulted in a very cool peak in visitor counts! Everytime I go and take a look at it myself I actually feel pretty proud about putting it together myself! I hope you can enjoy it at least as much as I do!

MY HEALTH

As some of you might know, my health has been not so great this last year. I’ve quit smoking but feel almost nothing to show for it (yet). Amongst other things A recent research pointed out that I have a pretty bad vitamin D deficiency going on. I am now resupplying that with strong supplements. hopefully I will feel a lot better on a lot of fronts within a month or two! So in this not so good news there is good news hidden! *Also does some prayers for more sun and summer*
